When purchasing a new home you want an agent that will do everything in their power to represent your interests and negotiate on your behald. You want an agent that is a fiduciary who upholds the four pillars of fiduciary duty: Loyalty, Care, Disclosure, Confidentiality.  You can only get a true fiduciary relationship with your buyer agent if your agent is compensated on a fee-only basis.  Commission-based agents cannot give you economic loyalty because they make more if you pay more, if you buy faster, or if there is a higher commission.
